📣 Have Your Say: School Policy Reviews

Did you know that you can help shape our school’s policies? We work alongside SchoolDocs to maintain, update, and review all of our policy documents.

Every term, specific policies are opened up for review, and we strongly encourage our whānau and school community to share their thoughts, ideas, and feedback. Your voice matters!

How to Submit Your Feedback

1. Visit our site: Head to the SchoolDocs website

2. Log in:

   • Username: whitikahu

   • Password: country

3. Choose a policy: Select the policy you’d like to comment on. (Tip: You can review any policy that displays a “Start your review” button, including related policies, not just the main ones listed under Current Reviews!)

4. Share your thoughts: Click the “Start your review” button in the top right-hand corner and follow the quick prompts to submit your feedback.

 

💡 No Internet Access? No Problem!

If you don’t have internet access or prefer a paper copy, pop into the school office. Our team can provide you with printed copies of the policy and a physical review form.

You may have heard that the Ministry of Education has introduced some changes to how schools plan and report on their progress. We want to keep you in the loop on what this means for Whitikahu School.

What’s Changing?

The government has updated the “Strategic Planning” rules. The focus has shifted to make student achievement the highest priority, along with new goals centered on improving attendance and using clearer assessment data to track how our tamariki are progressing.

Because of these new requirements, the MOE has confirmed that school boards do not need to create a new, long-term strategic plan right now. Instead, we have developed a one-year Annual Implementation Plan – see the link below to check it out. This plan will act as our roadmap for 2026, ensuring we meet the new government standards while continuing to provide the best learning environment for our students.

Next Steps

The plan will carry us through until 2027, which is when our next full three-year Strategic Plan will begin.

Before we lock in that next three-year plan (2027–2029), we will be reaching out to you. Community consultation is a huge part of this process, and we want to hear your aspirations for our school’s future.
